Every year on 18th March, Global Recycling Day reminds us of the critical role recycling plays in preserving our planet’s natural resources. It’s a day to recognise that waste isn’t just waste—it’s a valuable resource that can be reused, repurposed, and given a second life.

At ASC Direct, sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and Global Recycling Day provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on our impact and reaffirm our commitment to responsible practices.

Turning Waste into Opportunity

Cardboard is one of the most widely recycled materials in the world, and for good reason. It is highly reusable, cost-effective, and plays a key role in reducing environmental impact across industries.

Over the past year, ASC Direct successfully recycled 501 tonnes of cardboard — the equivalent of saving approximately 8,000 to 9,000 trees.  That’s not just a number—it represents a significant contribution to reducing landfill waste, conserving raw materials, and lowering carbon emissions.

To put this into perspective, recycling cardboard:

• Reduces the need for virgin paper production

• Saves energy and water

• Helps cut greenhouse gas emissions

• Supports a circular economy
